bareMinerals Blemish Remedy Foundation and Prep Gel (Review)

I've been wanting to try this product for a really long time actually. This and the bareMinerals Original Foundation. While I was in USA, I decided to get my hands on both of these products. The review for the Original foundation will be coming up soon so stay tuned for that.

I'm always on the look out for good foundations because I've never been the person that had wonderful skin. When I saw Jen talking about how good mineral foundations are, I thought it'll be good to try it.

Ingredients:
Lauroyl Lysine, Silica, Salicylic Acid, Populus Tremuloides Bark Extract, Soil Minerals, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Litchi Chinensis Fruit Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract, Disodium Edta, Limonene, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Sorbic Acid. May Contain: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides.

When I was in the store getting my shade matched, the lady recommended me to get the Blemish Remedy Mattifying Prep Gel as well, so I did...

Ingredients:
Water (Aqua/Eau), Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Adipic Acid/Neopentyl Glycol Crosspolymer, Silica, Sclerotium Gum, Caprylyl Glycol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Lecithin, Populus Tremuloides Bark Extract, Ganoderma Lucidum (Mushroom) Stem Extract, Micrococcus Lysate, Serenoa Serrulata Fruit Extract, Dimethicone, Zinc Pca, Vp/Va Copolymer, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Amodimethicone, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Sodium Hydroxide, Limonene, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin.

There is a total of 12 shades available for the foundation and I'm in the shade Clearly Cream. There is 6g/0.21oz worth of product and I don't think you can get anywhere in Singapore... Maybe online but then it'll be pretty expensive.

After applying the prep gel all over my face, I usually go in with my expert face brush because that was what Jen recommended... I'm very good at following instructions as you can tell hahaha.

I would say that this is a very wearable everyday foundation that you can easily put on in the morning. Although it takes some time to get used to the "swirl, tap, buff" technique, overall it provides a medium coverage I would say, but a very natural finish. It gets nicer as the day progresses. Although I don't think this does much for my acne, I can say that this is a product that doesn't break me out.

I really enjoy the packaging for this product because it allows me to travel with it, not worrying about the powder getting all over the cover (like the original foundation).

I'll be reviewing the bareMinerals Original Foundation in my next post so stay tuned for that(:

Garnier 5-in-1 Miracle Perfector BB Cream

This is a product that I chanced upon while shopping in Watsons at Plaza Singapura. I can't remember how much I got it for but I remember it was relatively inexpensive. I don't think all Watsons outlets carry it though because up till now, I have only seen it available at Plaza Singapura and there weren't many of them left at that point of time so I'm not sure if they'll be replenishing it because it doesn't seem like this product is very popular.

Active Ingredients:
Octinoxate 3%, Titanium Dioxide 4.7%. Inactive Ingredients: Water, Isononyl Isononanoate, Isohexadecane, Glycerin, Alcohol Denat., Peg-20 Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate, Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate, Cetyl Palmitate, Nylon-12, Cyclohexasiloxane, Propylene Glycol, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Stearyl Alcohol, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol, Lithium Magnesium Sodium Silicate, Disodium EDTA, Linalool, Benzyl Salicylate, Limonene, Caffeine, Ascorbyl Glucoside, Benzyl Alcohol, Geraniol, Cellulose Acetate Butyrate, Polyphosphorylcholine Glycol Acrylate, Citral, Ammonium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Polyvinyl Alcohol, Sodium Chloride, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Fragrance; May Contain: Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides.

There are only 2 shades I think? Light/Medium and Medium/Deep. Mine is the former. This has SPF 20 and has 2.0 Fl Oz/60ml of product.

I usually apply this with a brush because I feel it provides more coverage but sometimes with certain brushes, it does apply a little streaky so I'll go over with my beauty blender. If you love matte foundations, I would say, give this a miss. Either that or you should powder it down.
If you love a dewy look then I 100% recommend this item.

I've never broken out because of this item but I must admit it is not super long wearing. This is my go-to everyday foundation because it is so easy to put on, but it is not something that I'll use if I know I'll have a long day ahead. Somehow, the foundation around my nose always gets rubbed off super easily.

Clinique Moisture Surge™ 72-Hour Auto-Replenishing Hydrator (Review)

While I was in Canada, my skin was going crazy because it was so dry and since Clinique was having a 25% offer, I thought, why not?
Ingredients:
Water\Aqua\Eau, Dimethicone, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Trisiloxane, Trehalose, Sucrose, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Hydroxyethyl Urea, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Silybum Marianum (Lady's Thistle) Extract, Betula Alba (Birch) Bark Extract, Saccharomyces Lysate Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Water, Thermus Thermophillus Ferment, Caffeine, Sorbitol, Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-12, Sodium Hyaluronate, Caprylyl Glycol, Oleth-10, Sodium Polyaspartate, Saccharide Isomerate, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Tocopheryl Acetate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Glyceryl Polymethacrylate, Tromethamine, PEG-8, Hexylene Glycol, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Disodium EDTA, BHT, Phenoxyethanol, Red 4 (CI 14700), Yellow 5 (CI 19140)

What It Is
"Our addictively refreshing gel-cream is now enhanced to give your skin the power to rehydrate itself. Delivers a 152% instant moisture boost. Keeps skin almost twice as hydrated at the end of the day than it did before. Enjoy 72 hours of non-stop hydration, even after washing your face." - Clinique.ca

It claims to be perfect for all skin types and there are 2 ways that you can use it. First as a moisturiser, and the second as a 5 minute mask. I have yet to try it as a mask because I have so many other masks to use but it works wonders as a moisturiser.

It has a whipped gel texture, similar to that of their Intense Hydrator but that aside, it claims to provide moisture for 72 hours, even after washing your face! Not sure if that is exactly true but I must admit, after I started using this, I realised that I started having lesser dry patches on my face. Of course, it might be because I moisturise twice. I layered this on top of their Moisturising Gel and my skin has been feeling so hydrated. Layering this on top of the COSRX Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence works well too!

Previously, I did try moisturising twice however, maybe it was because my moisturisers weren't as hydrating (???), I still saw many dry patches on my face. And when I put foundation or BB cream on top of my skin, man... it looked so bad. I think I mentioned in the last post but I have dehydrated skin. So, this didn't cause my skin to product any more oil but at the same time, kept the top layer of my skin super hydrated and moisturised so I'm super happy with this buy. Definitely recommend everyone to get this (:

In fact, this item was sold out during the 25% promotion offer! After trying it, I was raving to my friend about this product and they wanted me to help them get it but it was totally sold out ):

Apparently, you can layer this on top of your makeup as well but I have yet to try it... I honestly can't imagine how to put this on top of your makeup without smudging everything out. But I might be wrong. If you've tried it, please do tell me if it works! (:

COSRX One Step Pimple Clear Pads (Review)

I've been hearing great reviews online regarding this product so I decided to finally give it a try. If you're into Korean beauty, I'm pretty sure you would have heard of this brand. Joan Kim is one of my favourite youtube vloggers and she absolutely stands by this brand so I was very curious as to how good it really is.

COSRX isn't super huge in Singapore so they have very limited products in Watsons and Guardian (but at least their shelf space is slowly increasing). If I'm not wrong, you can get yours now in Watsons for $22.90? Don't quote me on that because I got mine from Lazada.

Before delving into the product itself, here are the ingredients:
Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Betaine Salicylate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Arginine, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Panthenol, Allantoin, Ethyl Hexanediol, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Hyaluronate

What are they? These are basically pre-soaked exfoliating pads that wipe out excess oil and keep your complexion clear, refined, and well-balanced (taken from COSRX website). They have 2 sides, one embossing and one soft. First you use the embossing side to gently exfoliate all the dead skin cells. This step also takes off all the remaining make up that your cleansing steps may have failed to remove. Following that, you use the soft side to smooth everything over.

There are 70 pads inside so you can probably use it 70 times.
Quick budget tip: You can cut the pads in half so that you can "maximise" the number of uses (: HAHA super Singaporean I know.

Everything aside, how do I feel about the product?
Generally I feel that this product is super innovative and creative because for lazy people like me, having a pre-soaked pad that i can use straight out of the tub is really a dream come true.

HOWEVER, it might be because of my dehydrated skin that I felt it was a bit too drying for my liking. Then again, because it is drying, it should really help with acne. It really depends on your skin type in my opinion. If you have oily or acne-prone skin, I think this would be a really good product for you to invest in. My skin is really complicated because it's dehydrated. Dehydrated skin is not dry skin or combination skin. Basically, it's dry on the surface but oily on the inside (if that makes sense) and it's most often caused by the weather/environment. So if your skin is anything like mine, I would suggest staying away from it.
